At the 2017 annual business meeting of the Society for American Archaeology, Bernadette Cap (Ph.D. 2016) received the SAA Dissertation Award. This annual award recognizes one recent dissertation that exemplifies exceptional research and has made an outstanding original contribution to the discipline. Congratulations to Bernadette!

Prof. Katherine Bowie is has been awarded the ACLS Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation Buddhist Studies Fellowship, and has recently been named a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor. Well done, Katherine!

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association has selected Prof. John Hawks as one of the recipients of the 2017 Ken and Linda Ciriacks Alumni Outreach Excellence Award! Many thanks to John for his exceptional service and outreach to the citizens of Wisconsin!
