Cultural Anthropology
Katherine is a cultural anthropology PhD student interested in the dynamics of aid for migrants from Burma (Myanmar) in Northern Thailand. Specifically, she is interested in the networks of Thai-based organizations seeking to support these populations.
Katherine received her BS from Central Michigan University in Anthropology and Public and Nonprofit Administration. Her honors thesis focused on community organizing to support migrant workers in Michigan. Additionally, she has experience conducting human rights research on addiction and domestic abuse. Before starting her journey at UW-Madison, she served as a Fulbright teacher in Mahasarakham, Thailand.
